Licensing Procedure
To compete in a CMRA race event, you need a CMRA Competition License and a current AMA membership.
Requirements
Two credentials get you to the grid.
CMRA licensing confirms your eligibility with the club, while AMA membership is required because CMRA race events are AMA sanctioned.
CMRA Competition License
A CMRA Competition License is required to compete in a CMRA race event. Licenses can be acquired throughout the year and expire on December 31 of that year.
AMA Membership
CMRA events are AMA sanctioned, so competitors must also hold a current American Motorcyclist Association membership.
Season Timing
CMRA licenses are available throughout the year and are discounted after June, with all licenses expiring at the end of the calendar year.
Choose the right path
New racers, visiting racers, and points racers have different needs.
New Racers
If you do not have a CMRA Competition License and have not raced before, take the CMRA License School. Successful completion earns a Provisional Novice license.
Visiting Licensed Racers
If you hold a license from another organization and only want to compete for a weekend, you can purchase a reciprocal license with a current copy of your other club license.
Sprint Points
If you want to compete and receive sprint points, purchase a full CMRA Competition License rather than a reciprocal weekend license.

Minor Competitors
Minors under age 18 can compete, but are limited to certain classes based on age and must have a signed waiver in place.
